He has edited, co-edited, produced, or coauthored more than 20 works on psychotherapy, which have been published in twelve different languages. Dr. Zeig is a private practice psychologist and marital and family therapist in Phoenix, Arizona.

James F. Masterson (M.D., Jefferson Medical School, 1951) was the founder and director of the Masterson Group, P.C., a practice that specializes in the treatment of adolescent and adult personality disorders. He was also the Director of the Masterson Institute (previously the Character Disorder Foundation), as well as an attending psychiatrist at New York Hospital’s Payne Whitney Clinic and an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Cornell University Medical College. Masterson has written seven books and edited two volumes, all of which are on psychoanalytic methods to character deviants and adolescents. His major work on borderline personalities established him as one of the most prominent and researched practitioners of modern psychoanalytic approaches.
