Conventional techniques begin with the question: What brought you here? How can I assist you? What are you hoping to achieve? These are excellent questions for individuals, but they are poisonous in dysfunctional relationships. Their reactions will result in a slew of cross-complaints. Nobody is feeling well after 10 minutes.
Objectives of Education:
Show how therapists may grasp the couple’s difficulties without criticizing, condemning, or guilting each other. As difficulties are described, couples listen intently and offer compliments.
Show how each partner recognizes their particular goals for being in therapy and how to cope with the inevitable obstacles to reaching those goals.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
