Arriving at work, checking mail and email, attending office meetings, going to business lunches, dealing with computer difficulties, organizing a meeting, meeting with your supervisor, and interacting with coworkers are all examples of language to learn.

Lesson 1 – Getting to Work

Learn how to talk about security gates, parking permits, key cards, badges, entrances, visitor passes, and other types of English that will help you get started in the morning. This lesson includes the following topics:

An explanation of the well-known American expression “TGIF.”

Vocabulary for parking your car at work

The distinction between “always” and “in no time”

What it means to “make fun of” someone and why it isn’t always enjoyable

Checking Email, Mail, and Voicemail (Lesson 2)

Every businessperson must deal with mail, email, and voicemail. In this session, you will learn how to utilize the most significant terminology for all three. This lesson includes the following topics:

Physical mail vocabulary, including “junk mail”

A typical email monitoring and sorting routine

What should you do if your coworkers “pass” personal emails to you?

Common procedures to follow while checking your phone’s “voicemail”

Attending the Morning Meeting (Lesson 3)

Do you have a morning meeting with your boss? Discover some common English words and idioms used at these gatherings. This lesson includes the following topics:

A description of the location of many meetings: the “conference room”

Meeting jargon includes terms like “agenda” and “handout.”

Why isn’t everyone at a meeting “paying attention”?

Working at Your Desk (Lesson 4)

Taking a Break and Eating Lunch (Lesson 5)

Some of your most essential talks with coworkers occur when you are not working, such as during a break or while eating lunch. This class will teach you how to deal with them. This lesson includes the following topics:

The “break room” and the kind of refreshments available there

Being asked to a lunch meeting with coworkers

Vocabulary associated with eating in a restaurant

The distinction between “separate checks” and “joint payments”
