Author Biography
Steve Stockmal has a busy performance and teaching schedule.
He has performed as a drummer, vocalist, and guitarist with bands such as Mercenary, Krikit, The Cast, Crystal-Reign, Telesis, and The Connection around the United States.
He has also played internationally, including tours in Japan, a 28-day “freeze-out tour” in Greenland, performances in Australia, and a 7-year stint in Greece with prominent singers such as Anna Vissi, Stelios Rokos, Kostas Tournas, and Sakis Rouvas.
Throughout his traveling career, he performed in a wide range of settings, including clubs, backyard parties, and county fairs, as well as society performances, television and radio appearances, dinner music performing standards, and ten thousand seat rock concerts in Europe.
He has considerable instruction on the trombone, guitar, string bass, and drums and is a Musicians Institute (PIT) honours graduate in Hollywood, California.
Steve was a percussionist with SIERRA WINDS (a 35-member classical woodwind ensemble) and played drummer Jerry Allison in The Buddy Holly Story in 1999. (presented at the Garvin Theatre in Santa Barbara), He writes, records, and composes music on a regular basis.
He performs performances with his own band, presenting original songs, and as a solo act, singing and playing blues, ballads, pop, rock, and jazz classics.
Steve Stockmal began playing the piano at the age of six and has since studied, traveled, written, taught, and loved music.
