Initial Thoughts: The How to Perform series has been rather fantastic. This one has piqued my interest.

Initial Thoughts: It’s incredibly fun, but it’s difficult to take seriously.

Anyone looking for a good chuckle should watch it.

Who Should Avoid It: Anyone looking for a real educational release.

The Technical Details

Audio/Video Quality: The technical features are fair. I didn’t hear any background disturbances, and the music is quite clear and well-balanced. The video is shown in non-anamorphic widescreen format. The first half of the film is somewhat animated, with black outlines of the performers on notebook paper, while the second half is full color live action. The animation is wonderfully done, but the live action is a touch poorer, with the camera occasionally having terrible angles, being a little static, and having a little low lighting.

Music: Throughout the setups, there is some really corny music that contributes to the film’s humorous atmosphere.

Menus: The primary menu is quite simplistic, with simply a tiny clip in the background and the options in the foreground, making for a really terrible initial impression. The chapter menu is basic yet elegant, allowing you to select a scene based on a still from each and the chapter’s theme.

The Highlight

How to Perform Anal Sex departs from the series’ usual style by inserting a pair of demos in the middle of an animated tale about a couple who wish to attempt anal sex. It covers the physical components in the demos, while the animated sections create a bit of a tale to calm people down and discuss some of the emotional and mental sides of anal sex. The first demonstration is handled by Roxetta and Dino Bravo, while the second is handled by Caren Caan and Maxwell Schmart.

After attempting to introduce anal intercourse, Dino and Roxetta demonstrate rimming while discussing some of the effects it may have. They continue to provide alternatives and describe what’s occurring and why before going on to some anal missionary fucking with a finger and a string of quite large anal balls. They also discuss anal sex in doggy and spooning, as well as reverse cowgirl and an anal cream pie ending.

This part will provide different items to different people. Dino does an excellent job of talking his way through the action, pointing out factors that many other instructional DVDs seem to overlook, such as the tempo and the fact that they’re pros who can do more difficult things than you’ll want to try at first. He may not appear to be the most informed, but he does appear to be natural and a decent layman. Roxetta, on the other hand, serves as both comedic relief and an open hole in the scenario. Roxetta has more than proven her anal talents after viewing several of her scenes, but she’s a terrible pick here since she comes off not just as stupid as a plate full of doughnuts, but also as having about the same acting skills. She not only appeared to be being encouraged or reading cue cards, but she also made me question whether the cue cards were written out in different colored crayons with small images surrounding the phrases. This is the only instructional release where I’ve truly laughed out loud at the instructional segment rather than a hilarious setup or joking about amongst the performers to lighten things up. Roxetta seemed to be attempting to lighten the mood, but this scenario reminded me of one of those Saturday Night sketch comedy from back when they were truly amusing. The only thing this sequence was missing was Dino blurting out “Rox, you foolish slut! ”. It’s so awful that when the editing of the pop shot gets messed up, you can’t help but chuckle and roll with it. Those interested in anal sex may pick up a few pointers here, but everyone else should watch it for a good chuckle.

Scene 2 – Caren Caan and Maxwell Schmart

Caren gives a fast and probably planned funny introduction before stripping down Maxwell and demonstrating a few oral and handjob methods as she gets him ready. Caren discusses a little about lubricant and lets him warm her up with a finger and toy when he’s ready. They show the anal in doggy as Caren discusses it and other possibilities. Finally, she turns to her back for a belly pop.

This is a lovely scene. Caren keeps things light and lighthearted, yet she appears to have a brain in her head. She puts in some excellent effort for the guy’s foreplay as well as a little effort for her end of things. The sex was a little restricted here, which was unfortunate because Caren does a wonderful job putting things ahead, and I couldn’t help but wish she had handled more of the teaching aspect. This is by far the best part in the film, and it is both fun and educational.

How to Perform Anal Sex is a release that I can’t help but promote while also urging folks to avoid. If you’re worried about anal sex and want some sound advice, this is easily the worst release I’ve read on the issue. At the same time, the reasons it’s so horrible are also the reasons I can’t help but suggest it to anyone looking for a good chuckle. I have to give OSK credit here, and I appreciate how they attempted to keep things light, but this is one of those releases where you can’t laugh with the movie because you’re laughing at it so much. The animated segments are a pretty cool and unique idea, and although they lighten things up, they also make the cerebral and emotional side of things appear a little silly and artificial. It also detracts from the release by having things discussed and portrayed as cartoons rather than genuine goods. Concerning the demos, I must again commend Caren Caan for her ability to be excited about the subject while yet being genuine and approachable. Roxetta, on the other hand, appeared to be in need of a pair of floppy shoes and a red ball for her nose (she already had the makeup most of the way there). Unfortunately, if the shoes didn’t go up her ass, the nose most likely would. She’s so bad here that even porn fans may mock her acting ability without coming across as hypocritical. She comes off as little more than a whore who loses IQ points when she sneezes, which disappointed me because she’s previously released some fantastic anal scenes and I was hoping she’d be able to contribute to this release. She did contribute to the release, but not in a way that will benefit anyone searching for anal sex help. If you want a good chuckle, pick up How to Perform Anal Sex, as you can easily add two to three stars to the total rating, but if you’re searching for help on this subject, stay far, far away.

Trailers for Black Velvet: Santa Monica, Tortia, How to Perform Cock and Ball Torture, How to Perform Rope Bondage, and other Black Velvet chapters are featured. The first photo collection, which concentrates on the movie’s drawings, lasts a little more than three minutes, while the second gallery, which contains full screen images from the movie, lasts roughly ten seconds each full screen photo. There is also a blooper reel, which lasts roughly four and a half minutes. It’s a good mix of flubbed lines and outtakes from all of the scenes. Bloopers range from the animated plot to the sex displays, with a wonderful balance throughout. This is a highly entertaining featurette that you should see after you complete the film.

Many OSK Productions DVDs are currently available online for between $15 and $18. Rent this one first. It’s amusing, but I’m not sure how much it was intended to be. The technical parts are rather acceptable, and there is some care put into the extras. This is a fun release, but it’s not the most instructive. Note to OSK Productions: It’s fantastic that you want to do something lighter in the future, but please find a whole cast who can do it well. On the bright side, I appreciate you sharing the blooper reel here.
