Geoff Thompson built a career out of violence as a doorman at some of the worst clubs in the country. He is a TOUGH guy with the level of 6th Dan black belt in Japanese karate, 1st Dan in Judo, and similar qualifications in other martial arts. He has written a film script, Watch My Back, based on his life, as well as a stage play, One Sock, which prompted The Royal Court Theatre in London’s West End to invite him to their elite writers group. Chuck Norris flew Geoff over to the United States in 1997 to present at his worldwide seminar. As a martial arts ambassador, Geoff has been on national and international TV and radio, including as the BBC Good Morning self-defense specialist for a few years, talking about and offering advise on self-defense and related topics. His art is both inventive and provocative. He is presently a Sub Editor at Martial Arts Illustrated and a Contributing Editor at Men’s Fitness magazine. He has written for various prominent glossy publications, including Loaded, Maxim, FHM, Arena, and Esquire, as well as GQ Magazine (Britain-Paris). He has also been on mainstream television several times, including ITV’s Martial Arts: The Real Story, which aired in two one-hour episodes. In addition to his books and videos He was Martial Arts choreographer for the performance ‘Hard Fruit’ at the Royal Court, London and recipient of the EMDA Award for the writing of the film ‘Watch My Back’. Geoff’s short film Brown Paper Bag received a BAFTA in 2004.
