This series, shot during Erle Montaigue’s Summer Camp in 2010, takes your two-person set of Large San-Sau to the pinnacle of “Small Frame.” The theme of the whole camp was “Small Frame,” which allowed children to view, engage in, and learn at the highest levels in almost everything. Even if a student is not ready for this level of learning, it is necessary for them to witness their instructor performing at the greatest level so that their inner mind is prepared for what is to come. Large San-Sau demonstrates “how to” maneuver in a self-defense situation. It trains us to move when the attack is about to commence. It offers us a “reflexive” mentality that moves the body promptly when his attack is launched at us. A minor portion on Small Frame Push Hands, which is equally pertinent to San-Sau, is also discussed. Tai Chi ch’uan and Baguazhang reach their apex in the Small Frame. This is where it all comes to a conclusion, and it is what we have been striving for for many years.
