The Internal Family Systems paradigm has altered psychotherapy for over 30 years, and gifted members of our community are also taking IFS into other arenas such as mediation, business consulting, school systems, parenting – and coaching.
You may now enroll in our self-study online course Coaching for Self Leadership: An Introduction to Internal Family Systems, taught by expert IFS practitioners Brian Jaudon and Guthrie Sayen, PhD, PCC.
This course was created for experienced coaches who are unfamiliar with the IFS Model. You will study the fundamentals of IFS, such as how to deal with the parts or subpersonalities of our inner worlds and how to reach Self, the calm, confident, and creative center of every human being.
What exactly is IFS Coaching?
Many coaching models disregard or even aim to eliminate elements, particularly those that are not aligned or on board with the stated goals and aspirations of the clients.
Clients are left with unresolved inner turmoil and uninspired to change as a result of this type of humiliation. The IFS Coaching technique values clients’ resistive portions rather than marginalizes them. By encouraging overall system alignment in support of any change initiatives.
Without this comprehensive approach, clients frequently become trapped or disempowered, undercutting any stated aims.
IFS coaching provides clients with a road map for practicing Self leadership and living from a more integrated Self.
When we are more conscious of what components we have and what influences them, we may navigate more efficiently and avoid operating from an extreme element of our inner system.
We can unblend and separate from our extreme elements, come to know them, and learn about their constructive meaning. We may align for inner and outer connectivity when we make space for our basic Self, which has no load or agenda. This course teaches us how to become Self-led and how to train others to achieve the same.
You will discover practical and successful methods to incorporate the Internal Family Systems model’s key ideas into your work. You will be given approaches, tactics, and tools to use right now. Register for this self-paced course right now!

By the conclusion of the course, you will understand the significance of systems thinking in realizing that the pieces, or subpersonalities, react to each other in predictable ways, and that a change in one part ripples across the system.
The coach’s role is to adapt to the client’s inner world and identify the most respectful manner to work with the system’s natural proclivity to heal and reach its potential.
The primacy of Self, the enlightened center of every human being, which is naturally entire, smart, loving, and good.
The truth of plurality is that the human mind includes multiple components or subpersonalities, each with its own set of activities, actions, emotions, and techniques for meeting requirements.
And be able to use the following abilities:
Identify components, or recognize and observe which subpersonalities are present at any particular time.
Unblend parts, that is, separate or distinguish parts from the seat of awareness so that the client can enter a healing connection with their parts.
Make friends with all components, particularly those that clients feel are causing them trouble.
Support exiles as they appear, that is, know how to embrace youthful vulnerable parts compassionately when they appear.
Introduce clients to their actual nature, the seat of their consciousness, the source of their knowledge and creativity.
Increasing your confidence in dealing with all elements of the client!
