Strings Compact by Chris Hein is a condensed version of the well-known library.
Solo Strings Complete by Chris Hein and Ensemble Strings by Chris Hein. It includes all of the instruments and functions of its bigger siblings but is limited to the nine most common and crucial articulations. Obviously, the Compact edition use the same high-quality samples as the Complete version.
As a result, Chris Hein – Strings Compact provides the complete sound of Chris Hein’s big string libraries at an affordable price. Furthermore, you may always upgrade to Chris Hein – Ensemble Strings or Chris Hein – Solo Strings Complete with up to 49 articulations.
Solo and group
Strings Compact by Chris Hein includes four distinct violins, including the famed
Chris Hein conducts a solo violin, three violas, four cellos, and three double basses. Aside from the precise individual instruments, the collection features 14 groups that provide quick access to the sound of epic film soundtracks or massive orchestral pieces.
Strings Compact by Chris Hein is meant to be uncompromisingly versatile: Almost every string ensemble instrumentation possible may be independently produced with a choice of 14 solo instruments and ensemble blends. Each potential combination of aural hues for sting instruments is possible, from a single violin to tiny string quartets, chamber ensembles to enormous symphony orchestras.
All instruments have identical articulation and function programming, making merging different instruments a piece of cake.
You may add a solo violin to a violin ensemble by simply duplicating a MIDI file, and both parts will play flawlessly together. Creating ensembles of any size is as simple as a few clicks. Furthermore, the built-in ensemble function increases the variety of each instrument.
Sound shaping that is variable
Chris Hein – Strings Compact provides flawless solo and symphonic string tones. Aside from meticulous recordings and high-quality equipment, such as Neumann microphones, the players, who are mostly members of the renowned WDR symphony orchestra, have a great effect on the outcomes and sound aesthetics.
The uncompressed dry sound of the library, when combined with the sample-twin engine’s convolution reverb sections, allows the instruments to be ideally tailored to a wide range of applications. Separate convolution sections for the corpus sound (body) and the room impression enable the creation of nearly unlimited room sensations ranging from close proximity to huge orchestra halls. In contrast to some rivals’ set imprinted room sounds, Chris Hein – Strings Compact has a far more variable tone and can thus be simply blended with any other library.
Even with its small size, the library makes no concessions in terms of sound quality or practicality for everyday usage. Chris Hein – Strings Compact instruments are built on meticulously crafted complex multisamples that provide phase-correct mixes, crossfades, and dynamic layers via accurate phase-alignment. Authentic sound behavior ranging from ppp to fff is provided by up to eight dynamic layers at the same time.
The true legato function, articulation changes via keyswitches, variable attacks per note, x-fade control via breath controller, portamento legato via sustain pedal, switchable artificial vibrato, innovative play control via hot keys and note heads, and MIDI remote controllability of each function via TouchOSC from an iPad are undeniable highlights of this library.
Functions that are unique
Because of phase alignment, perfect dynamic transitions are possible.
All samples were meticulously synchronized in phase to each other over the course of several months of investigation. As a result, the instruments’ sound is distinguished by smooth transitions between up to eight dynamic layers with no tone deterioration.
A one-of-a-kind combination of long and short notes
When it comes to sound authenticity, the mix of short and lengthy played notes is a common challenge for many sample libraries. The duration of a note played on a real instrument determines its attack behavior and ending. Chris Hein – Strings Compact handles this issue in a novel way.
„Note Head Designer”. A control/controller can call up matched short sample variants (Shorts) for each sustain articulation. These will not only provide the necessary attack behavior, but will also be exactly connected in terms of note durations. The user-defined selection of short-variations accessible in up to eight dynamic layers, together with the associated sustain phases, leads in entirely realistic sound effects that are not possible with traditional randomized selection utilizing round-robin procedures. The Shorts can, of course, be referred to as distinct articulations.
Genuine Legato
Chris Hein – Strings Compact instruments provide true, zero-latency True Legato and True Portamento with various fine settings. Even very quick sections may be played without time lag because to the sophisticated legato-programming. Furthermore, the legato mode may be performed polyphonically. Remove the needless burden of several legato articulations and polyphonic instruments. The portamento transitions in the collection are genuine recorded portamento transitions that may be tweaked and fine-tuned in time and duration. This manner, every note transition is feasible – from quick finger-legato to small grace notes to slower glides from note to note.
Legato and portamento can be used on all articulations, not simply sustain. For example, while playing trills and tremolos with portamento, the resulting note transition variants are limitless and sometimes impossible to achieve with other libraries.
Chris Hein – Strings Compact targets novices, musical upgraders, and composers searching for high-quality sampled strings with practical usability that can run smoothly on mobile computer systems. In addition to complete sound compatibility, you may upgrade to the big Complete editions at any moment.
