Sam was further away from football than he had ever been. In high school, he confessed to her his really secret longing. “I wish I’d been the quarterback.” So, what was the distinction?
Both May’s dad and Sam’s dad had hopes and aspirations too. While Sam’s father established certain goals for himself… He just gave up when things didn’t work out. May’s father, on the other hand, did not give up. He was curious as to why he wasn’t achieving his objectives, so he went in search of an answer. He looked and looked till he discovered it. That is what you are going to find.
He taught May all he had learnt about making ambitions a reality. But Sam’s father did not. So Sam could only establish objectives and, with luck, occasionally achieve them.
