DescriptionDescription:
Psychotherapy did not begin with Sigmund Freud. Despite being mostly forgotten, its roots may be traced back to traditional therapeutic procedures (e.g., mesmerism, mind curers, the occult). Healing has been reduced to prescriptions for altering people’s beliefs, feelings, actions, emotions, or brain chemistry in the age of science. According to studies, the numerous ways clients’ cultural and spiritual beliefs and practices might boost engagement and success are lost in translation. Ways to incorporate alternative techniques into your own therapeutic work will be examined during this (workshop/panel discussion). Whatever your viewpoint – secular and scientific or esoteric and spiritual – you will discover how ancient and alternative healers’ secrets may make your psychotherapy practice more successful, creative, and entertaining.
Objectives of Education:
Give two reasons why they should widen their understanding of what makes effective psychotherapy.
List two empirical sources of support for incorporating alternative healing traditions into practice.
Use at least one ancient healing method that is compatible with the client’s beliefs, values, and spiritual orientations.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
