Despite the widespread perception of sadness as a medical ailment, there is a growing body of data pointing to societal variables that contribute to the huge and rising population of depression patients. The focus of this talk will be on the social variables that contribute to and worsen depression. It will be investigated how therapy, as a social activity, might combine hypnotic and strategic techniques to experientially teach behaviors known to minimize and even prevent depression.
Objectives of Education:
The goal of this study is to uncover four major socially learned behaviors that induce and perpetuate depression in individuals.
Design a hypnotic or other experiential strategy for assisting a depressed client in developing the social skills required to minimize depression and the likelihood of recurrence.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
