This workshop will honor the late Steve de Shazer’s theoretical, technical, and clinical achievements through videotape, lecture, and discussion. It will contain a brief excerpt from More Than Miracle: The State of the Art of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, de Shazer’s most recent book that updates the SFBT.
Objectives of Education:
To identify two of de Shazer’s key beliefs.
To define one feature that sets de Shazer’s SFBT method apart from standard psychotherapy techniques.Due to illness, Steve de Shazer was unable to attend the Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference. Following his passing in September 2005, one of his closest associates planned this memorial for the Milton Erickson Foundation.

The Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Association’s Vice President. For over 25 years, she has been a psychotherapist and is globally known for her publications and training workshops in solution-focused and Ericksonian treatment. The Milwaukee Brief Family Therapy Center is affiliated with them. She has six publications to her credit, including More Than Miracles: The State of the Art of Solution-Focused Therapy, which she co-wrote with the late Steve de Shazer and others and will be published in 2006.
